Submission Information

Effective September 1, 2009 we have closed our Young Adult Line (Climbing Roses).  While the catalog will still sell these books and short stories, we will not be taking submissions for this line.

Effective October 1, 2009, White Rose submissions should be directed to White Rose Publishing.  See the site for details.  www.whiterosepublishing.com

All other lines at The Wild Rose Press are open and ready to receive your submission.

The Wild Rose Press is an electronic publisher, however, we also print our full length novels (over 65,000 words). For more information on distribution visit our FAQ section.

We only publish ROMANCE no matter what the length of the story. Please do not submit women's fiction, poetry, science fiction, fanfiction, or any type of nonfiction. For more information on how we define ROMANCE, please read the articles listed in the FAQ section .

We do not send form rejection letters; you will receive a personalized individual correspondence should your manuscript not fit our needs.

Please refer to the line you are targeting for specific guidelines for each department's needs. The following are General Guidelines that cover all submissions at TWRP.

Please send queries via email in the following format to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Do not send any attachments until invited to do so.

-In the subject line, The name of your manuscript and put TWRP query.

-In the body of the email, indicate the line your manuscript is intended for and the length of the manuscript (i.e., Crimson Rose, 66,000 words)

-Write a query letter that gives your personal information: name, email, contact information, and any pertinent writing background information.

-Include a synopsis in the body of the email. This can be as long or as short as you choose as long as it gives us complete information. We must know the story is a romance and get an overall idea of the entire story. Please make sure we have the complete story. If you aren't sure how to write a synopsis, refer to our Writing & Rhetoric sectino for several articles on this subject.

Please note the elements that we do not accept within any of our lines.

No depraved or illegal acts
Hero and Heroine should not be already married to one another except in certain circumstances such as marriage of convenience.
Heroine and Hero should not be married to other people when they begin their relationship.
No bestiality
No degradation of women (rape)
No pedophilia* (no sex involving underage characters)

No homosexuality** (our romances celebrate heterosexual monogamous relationships)

**There are numerous publishers that specialize in this specific type of relationship; we feel we aren't qualified at this time to review submissions of this nature. This is not in any way meant to imply that we have any issues with a person's sexual preference.
